Why does the movie Paranormal Activity make it seem like its based on a true story?

Such as at the end when it says Micah died on October 11, 2006 and Katie’s where abouts are unkown.

so they can have a sequel that’s why they don’t say where she is. it also makes it seem scarier if it seems as though it is based on a true story.

same reason they also try and make it look scary

    when its not..

It’s a lot like Blair Witch Project. Since it’s an independent film, they use the camera as the view point which makes it a lot more realistic. They can’t just create a movie like that and say that it’s not true, that wouldn’t be a good quality film. Giving specific details like that spices up the movie and makes it more appealing. I thought that movie was very well done. (:

to add suspense…make it seem based on a true story.. Cmon the director was probably trying to come up with something scary for the audience

because people have no brains and will believe whatever they are told. Just like the people who actually believe 9/11 was an inside job. I bet im going to get a lot of thumbs down for this.
