What horror character to write about?

I started a vampire story and i think its good but no one will read it because of the craze. I like writing horror. I write about ghosts witches and shapeshifters but need a new character.

So any idea for a new character to write about in tge horror genre?

Does it have to be fantasy horror? Perhaps a serial killer, murderer, rapist or crazed ex-boyfriend with a chainsaw is on the loose.

Someone with an imaginary friend who tells him to do horrible things.

How about going down the “Cryptozoology” route? I can’t really name very many horror stories where the main character is Bigfoot, The Jersey Devil, El Chupacabra, etc. One of my favorite and creepy stories is about The Devil’s Footprints. Here is a link to that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil%27s_Footprints It may give you some inspiration!
    Good luck with your writing!

Write about a character that someone calls a friend, but the friend turns out to be a traitor

I’ll read your vampire story any time you want me to, just be careful not to ever give all your work to any one person. Many people would want to steal your ideas, so i repeat always be cautious with who you give your stories to. Maybe just give them a chapter or two so that they can’t steal too much. As for the new character i’d go for the craziest type of villain you can come up with. Think about it, The Joker in The Dar Knight, Voldemort in Harry Potter, Hannibal Lecter in the Silence of the lamps, Darth Vader in Star Wars, the Dark Lord Sauron in the Lord of the Rings, The White Witch in the Chronicles of Narnia. The best stories always have amazing villains that are almost unforgettable. That’s my advice to you, I hope i helped.
